I recently announced I will quit facebook.
5 days before I quit Facebook and since Facebook has been so central to my life for years now I feel obligated to leave a footnote.
I had my great time here before
Just like all broken relationships, there has to be good memories that sustained it. I thank facebook for the time when my political enlightenment began and I absorbed so much knowledge about the very city I call home. And as an activist I motivated and organised numerous movements with it.
There were times when I got censored and have my account banned due to my high profile activism but I never hate facebook for that.
I remember when we tried to save rural villages, my posts about the violence during evictions went viral and many people came to help.
I also get to know friends from around the world. I got baptised in Stockholm mainly thanks to a rare encounter with Sweden SCM, again thanks to facebook.
